Abstract:
2.1 Where elements which require a particularly rapid pressure drop are used, a known brake system of this kind, the mechanical brake pressure control device of which controls redundant brake pressure, requires an additional electrically controlled valve arrangement. One example of such an element is an anti-lock brake system.
2.2 The invention proposes to equip the brake system for the use of the said elements without additional outlay by virtue of the fact that a brake pressure modulator (8) of the electric brake pressure control device (6, 8, 11, 19) is also controllable by pressure and proportions the brake pressure both in accordance with the strength of the electric signal supplied and in accordance with the level of redundant brake pressure supplied and that the control electronics (11, 19) of the electric brake pressure control device (6, 8, 11, 19) is constructed in such a way that it adjusts the strength of the electric signal to the value required to cover the particular brake pressure requirement.
2.3 The preferred area of application of the invention is in road vehicles.
