Abstract:
Lathe with a first, drivable workpiece spindle which has a chucking means for holding a workpiece being machined and is displaceable in the axial direction, and two counterspindles which are mounted in an indexable spindle carrier and have chucking means for holding workpieces pre-machined in the first workpiece spindle, and two tool carriers, of which each is traversable parallel to and at right angles to the spindle axis, in which arrangement the chucking means of the first workpiece spindle (4) and the chucking means of the counterspindles (25, 26) constantly face one another, the spindle carrier can be indexed about an axis parallel to the spindle axes, an indexing position of the spindle carrier exists for each of the two spindles (25, 26), in which indexing position one of the two spindles (25, 26) is mounted coaxially to the first workpiece spindle (4), and at least one tool carrier (19, 20, 43) can be traversed from the chucking means of the first spindle (4) up to the chucking means of the opposite spindle (25, 26).
