Abstract:
PURPOSE: To stably and efficiently produce a high-quality lithium tetraborate single crystal useful for an elastic surface wave device using an elastic surface wave other than Rayleigh wave.
CONSTITUTION: A lithium tetraborate single crystal is produced by melting a lithium tetraborate raw material, contacting a seed crystal of lithium tetraborate with the molten raw material and growing a single crystal. The crystal plane of the seed crystal contacting with the raw material is {011} plane or thereabout.
