PURPOSE: To correctly grasp the light quantity of a lamp and acknowledge a display section conspicuously and clearly by providing a dimming display device performing the display in response to the dimming state of a controller receiving the signal from a reception section to control the dimming of the lamp.

CONSTITUTION: When a signal is transmitted from a remote control transmitter to a reception section 20, the light quantity of a lamp 4 is adjusted based on the control action of a controller 7. A dimming display device 8 is connected to the controller 7, a stay 11 is fitted to an apparatus main body 1, and the control state of the controller 7 is displayed by the display section 10 of the device 8. The display is performed by the lighting of light emitting elements 10a in response to the dimming degree indicated with a numeral in the unit of percentage. The light quantity of the lamp 4 can be correctly grasped. Since the device 8 is arranged at the outside section of a socket 5 on the main body 1, it is displayed at the weak portion of light radiation, the display section 10 can be recognized conspicuously and clearly.
