To provide an illumination operating method capable of smoothing a flow of light expressed with an illumination device formed by preparing in a vertical line a plurality of light guide units each having light sources respectively on both ends.
Lighting-up timing for LED light sources 16 of the light guide units 12 is followed under the following sequence. The LED light source at an upstream side of the flow of light of the first light guide unit 121 is lighted up as a starting point of light-emission. Then, the LED light source at an upstream side of the second light guide unit 122 adjacent to a downstream side of the flow of light is lighted up, and then, the LED light source at a downstream side of the first light guide unit 121 is lighted up. Then, the LED light source at an upstream side of the third light guide unit 123 adjacent to the downstream side of the second light guide unit 122 is lighted up, and then, the LED light source at a downstream side of the second light guide unit 122 is lighted up. Subsequently, lighting-up of the light guide units at downstream sides can be performed under the same lighting-up timing.
