To provide an illumination panel unit capable of achieving indirect illumination by providing a function for implementing surface light emission by guiding light from the outside, and by obviating the need of arranging an opening, a reflecting mirror or the like.

This illumination panel unit is provided with: a panel body 11 capable of implementing surface light emission; and light emitting diodes 12 arranged at an end of the panel body 11 or in a surface thereof. The panel body 11 is molded by adding a light diffusion substance in a resin having a predetermined total light transmittance, and indirect illumination is executed by guiding the light of the light emitting diodes 12 into the panel surface to make the panel surface emit light.
