To provide an image blur correction device capable of appropriately correcting image blur in accordance with a photographing condition by switching an angular velocity sensor, which detects vibration applied to an optical system, between an angular velocity sensor with excellent output characteristics relative to vibration in a high frequency band and an angular velocity sensor with excellent output characteristics relative to vibration in a low frequency band according to required vibration-proof characteristics when carrying out vibration-proof characteristic alteration matching the phototraphic condition.
While a pan/tilt operation is not performed, the characteristics of an HPF 12 and those of an LPF 18 are set to the vibration-proof characteristics in which image blur correction with respect to vibration in the low frequency band is given priority. In addition, the angular velocity sensor 2 with the excellent output characteristics relative to vibration in the low frequency band is used as an effective angular velocity sensor. While the pan/tilt operation is performed, the characteristics of the HPF 12 and LPF 18 are set to the vibration-proof characteristics in which image blur correction with respect to vibration in the high frequency band is given priority. I addition, the angular velocity sensor 1 with the excellent output characteristics relative to vibration in the high frequency band is used as an effective angular velocity sensor.
