This image display includes an input part 101, the first inversion part 102, a specifying part 103, the second inversion part 104, a display part 105, and an erasing part 106, and is provided with a photographing part 107. The input part receives an input of a route guide image photographed from the rear side of the vehicle by the photographing part. The first inversion part inverts the input route guide image laterally to generate the first inversion image. The specifying part specifies an image related to a character out of the first inversion image obtained by the first inversion part. The second inversion part inverts the specified image related to the character to generate the second inversion image. The display part displays the second inversion image obtained by the second inversion part. The erasing part erases an image as to an advancing direction of the vehicle out of the second inversion image obtained by the second inversion part.
