Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video see-through image display device capable of keeping geometric magnitude consistency between an object in an actual world and that in a virtual world at a time of experiencing MR.SOLUTION: An image display device comprises: composite image generation means 104 generating a composite image by superimposing another image on an acquired actual world image so that a geometric position relation in an actual world is kept consistent; and adjustment means adjusting at least either a focal length of an imaging optical system 103 or a digital zoom magnification for electronically zooming a part of the acquired image depending on a distance between an observer and a display 101, a distance between an actual object 100 and the imaging optical system 103, and a distance between the display 101 and the imaging optical system 103 at a time of displaying the acquired actual world image or composite image on the display 101.
