Abstract:

To provide an image display system and image displaying method for enabling a viewer to appreciate an image photographed by an imaging apparatus, such as, a digital camera by effectively utilizing already prepared image content, giving the image natural mode so as to enable the viewer to enjoy the image.

The image display system composites a TV image displayed on a monitor screen 21 of a television 20 with a camera image photographed by a camera and displays the composite image. The image display system has an imaging part 2 for photographing an object and generating a camera image and a recording part 4 for recording the camera image, and the image display system images the TV image displayed on the monitor screen 21 by the imaging part 2, retrieves similar images that resemble the TV images from among camera images recorded in the recording part 3, and displays the similar image retrieved as a camera image on the monitor screen 21.
