PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience of an image forming apparatus by reducing time loss when a jam occurs.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: history information storage control means 101a for making storage means store a printing condition of a print job to be a jam occurrence factor when the jam occurs; cause condition storage control means 101b for making the storage means store the printing condition as a cause condition representing the cause of the jam occurrence on condition that a jam occurrence frequency in the printing condition stored in the storage means satisfies a prescribed value; prediction means 101c for predicting a cause of a jam occurrence of a printing job on the basis of the cause condition when a new print job is input; and alternative printing condition determination means 101d for determining an alternative printing condition for avoiding the cause of the jam occurrence with respect to a printing condition predicted to be the cause of a jam occurrence of the new job on condition that the prediction means predicts the cause of the jam occurrence.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
