To provide an image forming apparatus for obtaining an image with a concavo-convex pattern without additional processing.

A control part 13 controls a forming part 11 and a fixing part 12 so as to obtain an image with a concavo-convex pattern. The forming part 11 forms a base image on a medium, and the fixing part 12 fixes the formed image to the medium. After forming the base image, the medium is returned to the forming part, and settings for the forming part 11 and the fixing part 12 are changed. The forming part 11 forms a concavo-convex pattern image on the medium using the same or similar color, and the fixing part 12 fixes the formed image to the medium. Two image forming and fixing operations are performed in this way. A height difference is generated between a concave part and a convex part of the concavo-convex pattern, to decorate the image.
