This image forming apparatus in which an image is developed, transferred, melted and fixed by using liquid toner including liquid carrier and toner particles is equipped with a 1st member having a 1st movable contact surface, a supporting member having a 2nd movable contact surface, a means for raising the temperature of a developed image, and a means for exerting force to a nip so as to give assistance in the partial melting and fixing of the developed image to base substance as the base substance passes between the 1st and the 2nd movable contact surfaces. The 1st movable contact surface is composed of composition including polymer material forming a non-rubber strippable film silicone polymer by appropriate cross-linking.
