A printer 1 forms a density patch by using an image forming part 9, measures the density of the density patch and produces color density correction data in order of a predetermined color. When the image forming request for the image based on image data inputted to the printer 1 from a PC 2 is made and the production of the color density correction data of a use color constituting the image data is completed, while the printer 1 produces the color density correction data, the image is formed based on the color density correction data of the use color.
