Title:
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011107179
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To correct displacement of an image caused by movement of a belt member.

An intermediate transfer belt 141 is at a first position (position shown by a solid line) when forming an image using yellow (Y) toner, magenta (M) toner, cyan (C) toner and black (K) toner, and is at a second position (position shown by a broken line) when forming an image using the black toner without using the yellow toner, magenta toner and cyan toner. At this point, the intermediate transfer belt 141 happens to skew in a direction different from a circulating direction. The skewing of the intermediate transfer belt 141 induces the displacement of a toner image transferred to the intermediate transfer belt 141 in a main scanning direction (direction perpendicular to paper surface). When the intermediate transfer belt 141 moves from the second position to the first position, the image forming apparatus forms the toner image corrected to eliminate the displacement due to the skewing on photoreceptor drums 121Y, 121M, 121C and 121K.
