Abstract:

To improve operability for an additional unit attached to an image forming apparatus later.

A copying machine 1 includes apparatus body 10, an image reading section 20 arranged on the upper part of the apparatus body 10 and an operation panel unit 50 arranged in front of the image reading section 20. The operation panel unit 50 includes a movable housing 51, a start button 52, a touch panel 53 and an attachment section 54 for the additional unit. To the attachment unit 54, a card reader, for example, is attached later. The operation panel unit 50 is an attitude varying type unit swinging in the vertical direction. When the card reader unit is attached to the attachment section 54, the card reader unit can have an attitude varied by following the attitude variation of the operation panel unit 50.
