To identify whether image forming has been going on or finished, in paper, wherein the paper is held and conveyed on an outer peripheral surface of a carriage and, after an emergency stop instruction, left in an apparatus when a conveyance is resumed.
An image forming apparatus 100 includes: a paper feeding unit 10 and a paper standby unit 20; an image forming unit 40; a discharging unit 70 that discharges paper P applied image forming processing; a plurality of conveying drum that rotate by rotational driving force being transmitted each other and transfer and convey the paper P while holding it; and a control part 14 that stops a conveying operation when receiving the emergency stop instruction, conveys the paper P toward the discharging unit 70 if the paper P on which the image forming by the image forming unit 40 has not finished yet has still held on the conveying drum, prior to the resume of the image forming processing after the emergency stop instruction is clear, and stamps and discharges the held paper P.
