An image forming apparatus includes: a recording part 3 forming an image on a roll sheet R; and the winding device 7 having a winding axis pipe 71 winding a sheet ejected from the recording part 3 a winding sheet material 72 having a predetermined length where one end is provided in the winding axis pipe 71, and winding the sheet so that the end of the sheet ejected from the recording part 3 is attached to the other end of the winding sheet material 72. The other end of the winding sheet material 72 is configured to be selectively attached to a winding start position which is located near the ejection port of the sheet ejected from the recording part 3 and is attached to the end of the sheet, and a sheet storage position which can store the sheet ejected from the recording part 3 on the winding sheet material 72.
