Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform color registration correction.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus forms registration marks 12U for determination for determining whether or not to perform color registration correction to a space S on an intermediate transfer belt 8 that is provided between sheets P and P during print continuous operation. The registration marks 12U are formed by four colors of 12Y, 12M, 12C, and 12K being overlapped with one another. A control unit acquires a detection width (detection time) in a sub scanning direction D2 of the registration marks 12U for determination that is detected by color registration sensors 110 and 112, and determines whether or not the acquired detection width exceeds a reference detection time. The control unit performs, when the detection width of the registration marks 12U for determination exceeds the reference detection time, the color registration correction.
