PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can solve one-side loop occurring on a recording material to reduce disturbance of an image.SOLUTION: A fixing part B includes heat generating means 16 that, when heating a recording material P, has a distribution of calorific value different in a width direction orthogonal to a conveyance direction of the recording material, and according to the difference between the amount of loop L1 of the recording material at a first position in the width direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the recording material and the amount of loop L2 of the recording material at a second position in the width direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the recording material, controls the difference between a calorific value Q1 of the heat generating means corresponding to the first position and a calorific value Q2 of the heat generating means corresponding to the second position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
