Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that employs an AC development system to reduce density unevenness due to variations in development gap compared with that in a DC development system, and can suppress worsening of a streak image.SOLUTION: A printer 100 that is an image forming apparatus of an electrophotographic system includes a lubricant application brush that is lubricant application means applying zinc stearate that is lubricant onto a surface of a photoreceptor 1 that is a latent image carrier, and uses an AC development bias that is a developing voltage including an AC component for development. The amount of zinc stearate applied to the photoreceptor 1 is 0.845 mg or more per surface movement distance 1.0 km in a length range of 1.0 cm in a direction orthogonal to the direction of movement of the surface of the photoreceptor 1; the peak-to-peak value that is the difference between the maximum value and minimum value of the AC development bias is 200 V or more and 400 V or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
