Abstract:
To calculate a parameter related to degradation of a fixing device appropriately with high cost efficiency.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a heating member that heats a toner on a medium while rotating; a pressure member that is in pressure contact with the heating member while rotating to form a pressure area, and applies pressure to the toner on the medium passing through the pressure area; a heating device 23 that heats the heating member with an input power; a temperature detection device 24 that detects the temperature of the heating member; and a control device 110 including a power control unit 110 that periodically changes the input power on the basis of respective change frequencies corresponding to periods in which the input power changes, a gain calculation unit 112 that calculates a gain that is the ratio of a temperature to the input power for each of the plurality of change frequencies, and a resonance parameter calculation unit 114 that calculates a resonance parameter reflecting degradation of the pressure member on the basis of the plurality of gains.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
