Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a reduction in image density at a developer delivery end side, compared with a case where an image forming apparatus does not comprise developer discharge means that forms images in non-image areas on both ends along a direction intersecting with a conveyance direction of a recording medium in an image holding body, the means discharging developer in a smaller amount at the delivery end side of developing means than that at the other side.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: image forming means that transfers, to a continuous recording medium, an image obtained by developing a latent image on an image holding body with developing means including a supply member that supplies developer consisting of toner and carrier to a developer holding body and a conveying member that conveys the developer peeled off from the developer holding body to deliver to the supply member at a delivery end, to form an image; and developer discharge means that forms images in non-image areas on both ends along a direction intersecting with a conveyance direction of the recording medium in the image holding body, the means discharging the developer in a smaller amount at the delivery end side of the developing means than that at the other side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
