To provide an image forming method by which it is possible to stably form an image which is free from oozing, strike-through and the like and has a sufficient image density, even when a plain paper is used as a recording medium and at the same time, is highly water- and light-resistant, as well as an image forming device.
This image forming device is equipped with a colored particle supply device 6 which supplies colored particles 1 to the surface of a liquid 2, a film forming device 7 which develops the supplied colored particles 1 to the surface of the liquid 2 and forms a film composed of the colored particles 1 on the surface of the liquid 2, a pressure generating means 8 which causes a pressure to work on the liquid 2 according to an image signal and jets liquid droplets with the colored particles 1 sticking to the surface from the surface of the liquid 2 on which the film of the colored particles 1 is formed, and a conveying means which conveys a recording medium to a position opposite to the surface of the liquid 2.
