Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a picture signal with high resolution in a vertical direction by arranging a first image pick-up means and a second pick-up means by shifting them by 1/2 picture element in the vertical direction on an optically equivalent face, and arranging a shielding mask with one picture element pitch in the vertical direction and about 1/2 picture element width in the vertical direction extending in a horizontal direction. CONSTITUTION:Image pick-up elements 14A and 14B are arranged by shifting them in the vertical direction by the 1/2 of one picture element in the vertical direction and on the other hand, they are arranged in the same position to a photographing lens 10 in the horizontal direction. The image pick-up faces of the image pick-up elements 14A and 14 are covered with a shielding mask 58 of the 1/2 picture element width in the vertical direction and the one picture element pitch in the vertical direction. Thus, the frame picture of the 525 lines of the image pick-up element 14A is in a complementary relation with the frame picture of the 525 lines of the image pick-up element 14B and they have 525X2=1050 scanning lines in total.
