Abstract:

To provide an image pickup apparatus equipped with a small photographic optical system particularly suiting a wide field-of-view system without generating large negative distortion.

The image pickup apparatus has the photographic optical system, and an electronic image pickup element, and it satisfies an equation 1 of -1.73IH/EXP-0.65, and an equation 2 of 0.50TH/TC1 wherein EXP is a position P of an exit pupil of the photographic optical system, IH is half of a diagonal length of the image pickup element, TH is collection efficiency with respect to a main beam from a center of the image pickup element to a position of IH, and TC is collection efficiency with respect to vertical incident light on an optical axis.
