Abstract:

PURPOSE: To pick up the image of an object with a proper dynamic lens and to pick up an image subjected to modulation by changing the reflectance of a spatial modulation element when a part with high luminous intensity exists in an object image.

CONSTITUTION: An optical writing liquid crystal spatial modulation element 18 is used to form image to an optical writing side to apply optical modulation to a part with storage luminous intensity in an image and the same image is formed to a read side and the reflected image is outputted as an image where a part with high luminous intensity is attenuated. In the case of viewing the spatial modulation element 18 from an image pickup device 20, when the spatial modulation element 18 is active, the reflectance is observed to be increased and when the spatial modulation element 18 is inactive, the reflectance is observed to be decreased. Conversely when a preliminary deflector 16 in a deflection direction and the liquid crystal orientation of the spatial modulation element 18 are arranged in parallel or a tilt angle within 45 degree, the reflectance is decreased when the spatial modulation element 18 is active when viewing from the image pickup device 20.
