PURPOSE: To prevent the luminance of a moving image from being fluctuated even when a still picture and a video moving image are picked up simultaneously at a same viewing angle by adopting the configuration such that the gain of an amplifier is controlled in interlocking with the operation of a luminous quantity limit member when a still image pickup is conducted.

CONSTITUTION: When both a moving image and a still image are picked up simultaneously by using a video camera function and a silver salt camera function, since part of luminous flux reaching an image pickup element for moving image pickup is shut by an iris diaphragm in the inside of an image pickup lens, the luminance of the moving image is fluctuated. In order to suppress the fluctuation, an iris time, iris information and iris start signal from an aperture control section 51 are given to an amplifier gain control section 50. In order to avoid the luminance of the video signal during the aperture operation from being fluctuated, the gain control of an amplifier 48 is conducted by an amplifier gain control section 50 with an amplifier gain calculated based on the aperture time and the aperture in interlocking with the iris diaphragm.
