PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus configured to determine characteristics of eye glasses of a user.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes an eye-glasses characteristics determination unit which determines characteristics of eye glasses, on the basis of a first contour position indicating a contour position of a face without the eye glasses and a second contour position indicating a contour position of the face with the eye glasses, which are detected from acquired face image data of a user.
