PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a suitable trimmed image.SOLUTION: An image processing device suitably determines a trimming position for an image including a plurality of subjects. The image processing device identifies subject areas from the image, and sets a plurality of trimming area candidates for each of the identified subject areas. The image processing device selects a prescribed number of trimming area candidates from the plurality of trimming area candidates as trimming areas based on evaluation values obtained for each of the plurality of trimming area candidates and similarity between the plurality of trimming area candidates.
