Abstract:
To provide an image processing system that removes a shadow area of an object from a change area in an object recognition system using background subtraction processing and precisely performs an object recognition process using a change area of the object.SOLUTION: An image processing system 20 includes: light source position estimation means 231 that estimates a light source position from a polarization angle obtained for an image; change area extraction means 232 that extracts a change area from an input image; and shadow area detection means 234 that compares a reference surface light source position estimated from a background image with a change area light source position estimated from the change area of the input image and determines that a pixel shining from the change area light source position is a shadow area. Since a direction of a light source can be known from polarization information of a polarized image photographed in a photographic area of a rough surface, the shadow area in the change area can be distinguished from other parts, and accuracy of object recognition is improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
