To enable improvement of encoding efficiency.
An image processing device comprises: a control unit that controls encoding by selecting a table, setting a context probability model, or the like with respect to encoding of various parameters related to intra-prediction according to the size, the shape, and the like of a prediction unit as a prediction processing unit area; and an encoding unit that encodes the parameters according to control by the control unit. The present disclosure can be applied to an image processing device.
