PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image processing system capable of suppressing block noise while feeling of sharpness.SOLUTION: The method comprises steps of: detecting a block boundary in a first direction in an input image composed of plural pixels aligned in the first direction and a second direction; smoothing the block boundary in the first direction; detecting a block boundary in the second direction; and smoothing the block boundary in the second direction.
