Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system which allows dynamic range compression without influence caused by blur.
SOLUTION: The purpose is achieved by providing the image processing system equipped with the following parts: An image reading means 1 reads a two-dimensional distribution of pixel values which are locally measured values of various physical quantities and converts them to electrical signals. A signal processing means 2 forms an original image by processing the converted electrical signals, finds a pixel value distribution of the original image, a smoothed pixel value distribution obtained by smoothing the pixel value distribution, and various parameters of local fluctuating components in the pixel value distribution, and computes distribution of added pixel values by adding a result obtained by computing the first monotone increasing function which gives the smoothed pixel value distribution as a parameter and a result obtained by computing the second monotone increasing function which correlates combinations of the various parameters. An image display device 3 outputs the distribution of added pixel values as an image.
