PURPOSE: To enable the practical endurance to be attained by providing a blocking layer mainly comprising an organic photoconductive layer and a titanium oxide between electrode couples.
CONSTITUTION: A blocking layer 6 comprising a titanium oxide and a photoconductive layer 7 are formed on a supporter 8 provided with individual electrodes 5 and then a common electrode 9 is provided on the layer 7. At this time, the blocking layer 6 is provided in direct contact with the electrodes 5 to be positive electrodes. Besides, the blocking layer 6 avoids the deterioration in the signal/noise ratio by making the ohmic contact having no rectification capacity between the organic photoconductor layer 7 and the positive electrodes 5 thereby increasing the dark current. Through these procedures, one picture element can be composed of an electrode couple comprising one of the individual electrodes 5 and the part of the common electrode 9 opposite to the same as well as the photoconductor layer 7 and the blocking layer 6 interposed between the electrode couples thereby enabling the signal corresponding to the light of individual picture element to be picked up.
