Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image receiver which receives even the image data conforming to various data formats, can restore an image and whose circuit scale is small.
SOLUTION: A control part 3 recognize the plane constitution of received picture data stored in a reception buffer 2 and decides on a lacking plane. The default value of the plane is stored in default value storage parts 7-9 corresponding to the lacking plane, and corresponding selection parts 10-12 are controlled to select the outputs of the default value storage parts 7-9. The plane existing in the received picture data is expanded by expansion parts 4-6, and the lacking plane is formed by data outputted from the default value storage parts 7-9. An image is always composited from image data of three planes. Thus, image data of one and two planes can be received with only the processing circuit of the three planes.
