Abstract:

To suppress generation of stripe unevenness by properly correcting the discharge amount of ink from a discharge port nearby an end of each of a plurality of heads.

An image recording device records a correction pattern group 95 on a correction medium 94. The correction pattern group 95 includes a plurality of correction patterns 961-966 corresponding to a plurality of heads 32a, 32b which are arranged zigzag, and two correction patterns of the correction patterns 961-966 which adjoin each other in a width direction are apart from each other in a Y direction. Then correction coefficients are determined on the basis of respective width-directional density distributions of a plurality of correction pattern images obtained by imaging those correction patterns 961-966, and the discharge amounts of inks from used discharge ports of the respective heads 32a, 32b are controlled by utilizing the correction coefficients. Consequently, the discharge amount of ink from a used discharge port nearby an end of each of the plurality of heads 32a, 32b is properly corrected to suppress generation of stripe unevenness.
