The image recording and reproducing device 1 wherein a semiconductor storage section 5 stores the still pictures together with the photographing time when a picked-up image picked up by an imaging section 2 is the still pictures and a disk recording medium section 6 stores the moving pictures together with the photographing time when the picked-up image is the moving pictures with resolution lower than the still pictures, includes: an image quality processing section 42 for executing image processing to reduce the resolution of the still pictures to the resolution of the moving pictures; and a control section (microprocessor 11) for performing output display of the still pictures and the moving pictures from the semiconductor storage section 5 and the disk recording medium section 6 on the display section 8 in the order of the photographing time.
