Abstract:
To provide a highly-integrated image sensor with more improved optical and electric characteristics, and a method of operating the same.SOLUTION: A method includes steps of: performing a primary reset operation to reset a floating diffusion region; sampling an electric potential of the FD region having a first conversion gain in a reset state, to generate a first reset signal during a first output interval; sampling an electric potential of the FD region having the first conversion gain to generate a first pixel signal during a second output interval; adjusting the first conversion gain of the FD region to a second conversion gain, after the generation of the first pixel signal; sampling an electric potential of the FD region having the second conversion gain to generate a second pixel signal during a third output interval; performing a secondary reset operation to reset the FD region, after the generation of the second pixel signal; and sampling an electric potential of the FD region having the second conversion gain in the reset state, to generate a second reset signal during a fourth output interval.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
