Title:
IMAGE SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3307978
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve a light emitting element in variation of light intensity by a method wherein light emitted from a light emitting element is reflected many times inside a first transparent plate and than made to reach a lighting object plane.
CONSTITUTION: Most of light incident on a transparent plate 1 from an LED array light source unit 3 is made to impinge on the saw-toothed plane 15 of a light coupling element 7, and the saw-toothed plane 15 is set at a reflection angle required for enabling light rays which vertically impinge on the plane of incidence of the transparent plane 1 from the LED array light source unit 3 to impinge perpendicularly to the direction of a cutout groove 4 provided in the transparent plate 1. Therefore, most of light rays traveling inside the transparent plate 1 is made to impinge almost vertically on the cutout groove 4. Light traveling in a thickness direction inside the transparent plate 1 is totally reflected many times and then made to reach the cutout groove 4, so that the 45°-inclined plane of the cutout groove 4 hardly affects the variation of light in intensity between LEDs.
