To provide an image storage processor which efficiently confirms a stored image.
A program which is offered from a program provider 10 and a program which is reproduced by a VTR 42, compressed and encoded by an MPEG (moving picture expert group) encoder 413 are stored in a data file 412a of a data storing part 412 through a router 411. Compressed image data in the first intra-frame coded image after scene switching of a program stored in the part 412 is extracted and stored in a browser file 412b by a master controller 44. The controller 44 reads data of the file 412b according to an instruction from an edit controller 471, an MPEG decoder 416 decodes it and a local storage 472 stores it. An image that is based on data of the storage 472 is shown on the controller 471, and whether a program is correctly stored in a data file 412b or not can easily be confirmed.
