Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an image synthesizer capable of setting up a reference block with optimum average density based upon a search area and a search line capable of changing a displacement variable between pictures to be synthesized and having optional sizes and executing a high speed processing for the interpolated image synthesis of pictures found out from the detection of corresponding points.
CONSTITUTION: The image synthesizer consists of a reference block setting circuit for setting up a search area 4 with optional size to be stored in an overlap area 3 for picked up and binarized synthetic picture data, setting up a reference block 5 on an appropriate position in the area 4 based upon the judgment of correlation by an optimum average density computing circuit, extracting a reference point 9, extending a search line 7 downwards from the reference point 9, setting up a reference block 6 on a correlative position on the line 7, and extracting a reference point 10 to find out reference points 9, 10, a displacement variable detecting circuit for finding out displacement variables R, S from these reference points, an interpolating circuit for interpolating a picture, and a synthesizing circuit 24 for synthesizing pictures.
