An IP address, a user name and a password of communication information are input in a digital camera 1 from an LCD/touch panel part 11, and registered in a RAM 5. Connection of the camera 1 with a cradle 20 is detected with a port connection part 23. The camera 1 controls an LAN controller part 21 via a bus connection part 24. After the connection with the cradle 20, the IP address of a connection destination which is previously registered in the camera 1 is connected with the PC 31 by depressing an operation key 22. After the connection, directory information of a storage means of the PC 31 of a transfer destination is acquired, and directory for storing a file transferred from the camera 1 is newly formed. Files of still picture data, dynamic picture data, audio data, etc., which are stored in ATA 15 or CF 18 or RAM 5 of the camera 1 are transmitted to a new directory of the PC 31, and one- touch transfer to the PC 31 is performed via a network 30.
