Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transfer method capable of reducing occurrence of wrinkles caused by distortion of a transfer medium in a thermal transfer as well as an image deterioration caused by feed irregularity.SOLUTION: An image transfer method comprises: superposing an ink ribbon 11a with a transfer target medium 13 while transporting the ink ribbon as a thermal transfer medium; performing a hot-pressing using a transfer head 12 to transfer a transfer body on the ink ribbon 11a onto the transfer target medium 13; and at the same time, adjusting a tensile force applied to the ink ribbon 11a so as to uniform a widthwise distribution of tensions within a surface of the ink ribbon 11a after passing the transfer head 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
