To provide an imaging apparatus for improving a degree of freedom of an operation upon imaging driving.
The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging section provided with a plurality of pixels including photoelectric conversion elements; and a driving section for performing line sequential reading driving for line-sequentially performing a reading operation for reading a signal charge obtained by the photoelectric conversion element from the pixel and line sequential reset driving for line-sequentially performing a reset operation for resetting the signal charge in the pixel. The driving section intermittently performs the line sequential reset driving for a plurality of times in one frame period. Line sequential reset driving is performed for a plurality of times so that a non-overlap period where respective reset operations by one line sequential reset driving are not overlapped with the reset operations by the other line sequential reset driving is installed at least in a part in the period of the reset operation in an overlap period of a driving period upon one line sequential reset driving and a driving period upon the other one line reset driving.
