PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus 1 capable of more quickly and more accurately focusing on a subject.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 1 includes a focus lens 21 which converges a luminous flux made incident from the subject, to form an optical image, an imaging element 31 which generates image data on the basis of the optical image, a driver 24 which drives the focus lens 21, a recording medium 36 which records a photographic condition and a subject distance, and a CPU 68 which determines the reliability of the repetition of photography on the basis of the photographic condition, corrects the subject distance on the basis of the reliability, and decides a focus drive start position in the next photography.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
