To provide an imaging apparatus capable of setting suitable exposure time according to users' operation conditions.
The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging means that images a subject image generated via an optical system to generate image data; a recording means that records generated image data into recording media; an adjustment means that adjusts exposure time for the imaging means; a blur detection means that detects blur of a self device; an operation means that is operated by the user and can take a first operation state and a second operation state; and a control means that controls the recording means so as to record image data generated by the imaging means into the recording media when the operation means becomes the first operation state. The control means determines whether the operation means becomes the second operation state before becoming the first operation state to adjust the exposure time of the adjustment means based on results of the determination and blur of the self device detected by the blur detection means.
