PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device, a client device, and their control methods that enable the client device connected with a communication line to confirm, via a network, whether or not a camera can output light field data, and to confirm whether or not the camera can output data to determine whether or not the camera is capable of refocus operation desired by a user.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: imaging means for imaging a subject and generating light field data; first transmission means for transmitting the light field data; first reception means for receiving a first command for inquiring whether or not the light field data can be transmitted; and first response means for returning a first response in responding to the first command.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
