A lens system is constituted of a 1st lens group 10 having negative power, a 2nd lens group 20 having positive power and a 3rd lens group 30 having positive power in order from an object side to an image surface side, power is varied by changing space between the respective lens groups, and the Abbe number, the refractive index and the shape or the like of the respective lens groups are appropriately set, whereby the imaging device equipped with the compact and high-optical-performance zoom lens whose variable power ratio is about 3 is provided. By appropriately setting the Abbe number, especially, the imaging device equipped with the zoom lens whose chromatic aberration is excellently corrected and which contributes to high resolution is provided.
