Title:
IMAGING ELEMENT AND APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2008071920
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a technology capable of suppressing a reduction in a volume of ambient light to an irreducible minimum in an imaging element equipped with a focus detecting function.

The imaging element is equipped with a first photodetector group, a second photodetector group, which are both provided with two or more photodetectors, and microlenses that are provided on the incidence sides of the first and second photodetector groups. In the first photodetector group, one microlens 52A is disposed correlating with every light receiving element 53A belonging to the first photodetector group, and in the second photodetector group, one microlens 52B is disposed correlating with every light receiving element 53B belonging to the second photodetector group. The photodetectors 53A belonging to the first photodetector group are disposed at positions different from those of the photodetectors 53B belonging to the second photodetector group in the direction perpendicular to the arrangement plane of the first photodetector group.
